Born in Pittsburgh.
Raised on AP style.
My mom was a journalist. My dad, a PR guy. They taught me to think creatively, speak precisely and revere the AP stylebook. So of course, I chose a profession where I could use fragments and make up words. Classic youngest child.
I cut my teeth at the Missouri School of Journalism, where I studied strategic communication, published research on brand loyalty and subsisted mainly on cereal. Since then, I’ve been in the agency world—writing for a lot of different clients across a lot of different industries.
I love trying on new tones of voice and learning about new subjects. I believe any subject can be fasincating if you ask the right questions and any account can be a fun account if you’ve got the right attitude and a good team.
“Jane has the eye of a hawk, eagle, or other effective raptor; the cleverness of a fox; the discernment of a housecat being offered unfamiliar food; and the wisdom of an octopus or owl, whichever you consider more wise.”
— The nicest thing anyone’s ever said about me
